Ned Lagin ‎

CD, Rykodisc, 1990

Despite his lack of fame, Ned Lagin fits the classical definition
of a renaissance man - artist, photographer, composer, early computer
visionary, scientist, accomplished musician... perhaps best known as a
sound engineer and keyboardist for the Gratefull Dead during their early
70's heyday, Lagin is a pioneer of the use of micro and personal computers
in live studio and stage performance settings. This release processed the
source sounds of the GD along with fellow hippie legends David Crosby
and Grace Slick, amongst others, into a completely different sound world
only accessible by the technology Lagin was exploring and utilizing,
resulting in the most unlikely cast of musicians of a release featured
on the blog, ever, yet perfectly at home here. Wild. I encourage you
to read Lagin's wiki profile linked below, it's interesting stuff!
